Carolina Tejera Filmography

Carolina Tejera started acting young. She started formal acting lessons at age three and by 17, she was already acting professionally in the TV series Rosangelica (1993). It has been a steady climb to the top for Carolina Tejera since then. The same year, she was cast in the telenovela, that was directed by Claudio Callao, Sirena.

Before getting married, Carolina has been cast in 12 TV soap operas. In 1994, Carolina appeared in 2 two dramas - La Hija del Presidente and Cruz de Nadie. Cruz de Nadie was written by Felix B Caignet, a talented Cuban, writer who wrote over 15 plays, radio & TV dramas and novels.

Carolina’s next project was as the character Angel in the telenovela Volver a Vivir. Shown in 1996, Volver a Vivir was directed by Cesar Bolivar and Luis Manzo. The lead stars for the show were: Gledys Ibarra, Carlos Camara and Carlos Camara Jr. Two years later, Carolina played the role of Mesalina in the drama Reina de Corazones. Cast in the lead roles were Emma Rabe and Roberto Mateos. The show was directed by Nicolas di Blasi and Tony Rodriguez.

By 1999, at the age of 23, Carolina has ascended to lead star status and played the lead character of Eugenia Sánchez de Landaeta, a woman trapped in a miserable marriage in Mujer Secreta. She also played the lead role of Amanda Santa Cruz against the character of Cesar Montenegro (Luis Fernandez) in the romantic drama Hay Amores Que Matan (2000). In Carissima, shown in 2001, Carolina played Marbella Vallemorin, the villain against Roxana Diaz’ character Avril Zurli. Carlos Monitnilla played the leading man Gabriel Santuario in the soap opera directed by Arturo Paez and Manuel Gonzales.

One of Carolina’s more popular soap operas is Gata Salvaje (2002). Venevision International produced the telenovela for Univision Communications Inc., the biggest Spanish media in the United States produced the show. Gata Salvaje was produced with state-of-the-art technologies and the cast included some of the finest Latin actors: Mario Cimarro, Ariel Lopez Padilla, Adamari Lopez, Frances Ondiviela and Charlie Masso (of the ‘80s popular singing group “Menudo”). Young star Marlene Favela was cast in the lead role.

Gata Salvaje revolves around the story of Luis Mario Arismendi (played by Mario Cimarro), a rich widower, who falls in love with a strong-willed yet underprivileged woman named Rosauro Rios (played by Marlene Fabela). Carolina Tejera was cast in Gata Salvaje as Eva Granados, the rich and selfish woman, that is being set for marriage to Luis Mario Arismendi to save the Arismendi fortune. Eduarda (Mara Croatto), Luis’ sister will do whatever it takes to have her brother marry the rich Eva. Rosauro Rios will have to stand up against Eva to fight for the love and the happiness she deserves.

In 2003, the actress was cast in the romantic soap opera La Mujer de Lorenzo. Carolina starred as Laurita, a woman thought by everyone to be sustaining a perfect and loving relationship with husband Lorenzo (Guillermo Perez). But behind her husband’s back, Laurita was already cooking up the perfect scheme that would make her husband voluntarily divorce her and leave her with half of his fortune. Laurita was doing all this for a man she felt an instant physical attraction to, her personal trainer at the gym - Alex (played by Yul Burkle). The story has more twists in the plot with the possibility of Laurita ending up without love.

The last telenovela, she did, was in 2004 - Inocente de Ti, a remake of Maria Mercedes. Carolina plays the role of Nuria Salas, while Camila Sodi, the niece of popular Mexican singer Thalia, played the lead role of Florecita. The show was directed by Miguel Corcega, Leonardo Daniel and Víctor Manuel Fouilloux.
